The opportunity to become Frijid
Pink’s lead singer/guitar player happened at the perfect time.
Arlen had just returned home from his Oriental tour with Baseline, and Pink was
planning their next recording session.
Arlen got the opportunity to write, co-write, arrange, and help produce all of
the songs that were slated to be released.
The recording was done at Sound Suite Studios, where they had, at the time, the
latest and greatest recording equipment available.
The
manager, Clyde Stevers, brought in an excellent producer to add the finishing
touches on the semi-completed songs.
Kurt Schreitmueller was also called in once again to work his magic on the
keyboards and it shows on the re-recorded version of Sandman.
The band was anchored by original
drummer, Rick Stevers, and bass guitarist, Tom Harris.
After Arlen joined the band, he brought in his friend, Jimmy Young, from the
Baseline tour, to accompany on guitar and vocals.
With the original band having a gold
record, it sure opened a lot of doors and gave Arlen, once again, an opportunity
to hone his skills and do what he was born to do, perform for an audience.
After a wonderful time with Pink, Arlen decided to
try his hand with
Salem one more time.
